8/31/10 - The Main and branch libraries will be closed on Monday, September 6 in observance of Labor Day.

7/28/10 - Through the generous support of the City of Cambridge and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Library was able to purchase two desktop video Magnifiers. These state of the art table top machines, recommended by the Perkins School for the Blind, allow a reader to slide a book, letter, magazine or newspaper under a magnifier. You'll find one machine on the second floor opposite the Research Desk, and the other on the ground floor near the corner windows at the far end of the newspaper shelving.

6/22/10 - The Central Square Branch will close after July 5 in order to repair and upgrade the heating and cooling systems, and to do other interior renovations. We expect the project to be completed in the fall. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In order to perform the work safely and expeditiously, it is necessary to close the building to the public.

4/28/10 - The Main Library is closed on Sundays until the fall.
